  • Stress vs. Pressure

Our company sells a product called Proloftin. It is specifically designed to reduce stress in the body by lowering cortisol levels, but many people use it practically as a sleep aid. I don't have much stress, nor do I have much trouble sleeping, so I've never actually taken the product. It's funny, recently I had to complete a rather difficult assignment in a short period of time. I guess you could say I was under a lot of pressure...

And this is the point of the post. What's the difference between stress and pressure?

I believe stress is unhealthy. It doesn't necessarily come from the outside factors in your life. For instance, taking on a job that requires long hours, that's a job that puts you under a lot of pressure. However, where stress comes is when you choose to worry about the deadline, when you make an issue out of your control as important as actually getting the job done.

I don't know, I'm not really wording this right yet. I think I'll take the next few blog posts to hash out my opinion on the difference between stress and pressure until I've got a nice little essay. Until then, here's my links...

Master formula is the best multivitamin. It's that simple. Buy it. I take it, I love it, I don't have much stress because of it.

  • The Protein Bar, the Weight Loss Shake, and Fish

I used to think weight loss shakes were the key to an effective diet. Just drink enough weight loss shakes and avoid enough food and the pounds would just fly off.

    Never worked.

No matter how many times you try, you just need to eat real stuff. Losing weight is about changing lifestyle and drinking weight loss shakes 24/7 isn't a lifestyle.

So I started the paleo diet. Much easier. I'm less hungry. I don't have as many cravings. You know the rest.

The thing is, I still do occasionally drink a weight loss shake or eat a protein bar. But now, it's not a regimented plan, I simply do it as something to supplement my regular diet, when I don't have enough time or energy to cook and prepare and entire lunch. And I usually add calories to the shake, or I also eat some food with the bar. Because, it's more important to get good nutrition, than starve.

And eat fish, it says so in this health blog.

  • Low Carb Snacks

I've gone low carb, yay! It's a long journey to washboard abs, but I'm taking it one day at a time, and heck, girls don't really need washboard abs anyway, so it's not too big of a deal.

But what I'm really here to talk about is low carb snacks. What are they?

Go into any gas station or Starbucks, and you'll notice that 99.8% of the snacks available are sugary, starchy death traps. Pastries = carbs. Chips = carbs. All candy ever = carbs. My god, what's left!

For one, nuts. Nuts are ridiculously high calorie, but they're also fairly low in carbs, and you don't have to eat too many to have a nice snack, just a handful. And stay away from the peanuts!

And beef jerky. Pound for pound, beef jerky is the most filling low carb snack you can eat. Super high in protein, it gets the job done. There's just one problem: Jerky breath. Especially for a girl. No guy wants to move in for a kiss and get a noseful of beef. Plus the stuff sticks between your teeth. Jerky sucks big time before a date. It's almost as bad as popping a bunch of omega 3 vitamins as fish oil omega 3 capsules before a date, and blowing out fish breath for the next three hours.

  • Another Pointless Post About Omega 3 Vitamins

That's right, this is another pointless post about omega 3 vitamins. I've written so much vapid material on fish oil capsules recently, I just don't know what to say anymore. I'm worried if I keep repeating the same information about omega 3 supplements over and over again, my sentences might accidentally start to repeat, and I'll fall into the land of blogging wickedness.

I could also say the same about orthorexia nervosa, which is this month's topic of interest.Every time I provide a link to orthorexia, I mention how it is an eating disorder and it's creepy or scary or you should avoid it or some such nonsense. I usually put it at the end of the blog post, like I do with my search for people link. It all adds up to the same zero sum game, which means I've spent another seven minutes writing a blog post nobody will read, and with this one, I hope nobody does.

  • The Damage Control Master Formula

I've come across quite a few multivitamins in my day. From flinstones vitamins, to Centrum, to eventually a one a day vitamin I was ordering through the life extension company.

Then I came across primal nutrition's Damage Control Master Formula. This multivitamin is loaded. It's got 150mg of CoQ10. It has 150mg of Phosphatidyl Serine. It's got that new antioxidant everyone is going crazy about, Resveratrol. Resveratrol is the potent antioxidant found in red wine. They even did a piece on 20/20 about resveratrol recently and the Master Formula has 100mg of it!

Just about the only thing the Master Formula doesn't have is amino acids. But, those can be found readily enough buy getting a bottle of omega 3 capsules and taken a few idea with your two packets of blended multivitamins.

I'm definitely recommending this product to newcomers in the vitamin world. I wouldn't suggest taking it on if budget is an issue as it is a bit pricey. But hey, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right?
